Wellcome to our latest dream...SwitchedON PBX, a new "OLD" Asterisk PBX based distribution.
Why new and old? Simple, SwitchedON PBX is the natural evolution of Deselastixados, a fork of some Front End modules from Elastix(r) and the core from DEBPBX, the excellent project of debian and Asterisk made By Federico Pereira in 2009.
But now, we need to introduce the distro, the crew and explain to you why we are here for!

The Why and when? After April 2nd, 2011 Ramón, Dick, Fernando and other guys collaborating actively in Elastix PBX distro felt abandoned and dissapointed by the way things were managed there so we joined Federico and invited other people from here and there to develop a new project...made free and open source from Ground ZERO not attached to a PRIVATIVE CLOSED SPONSORSHIP as the vast majority of the actual PBX distros and as a result of this brainstorming days SWITCHED ON PBX was born.

The Goal? To have a PBX system with state of the art software and features but keeping rock solid stability, versatility and robustness via a well controlled methodology of development, testing and deployment that others simply dont have in mind.

Bienvenidos a nuestro último sueño ... SwitchedON PBX, una nueva pero a su vez "antigua" distribución basada en Asterisk PBX.
¿Por qué nueva y antigua? Simple, SwitchedON PBX es la evolución natural de Deselastixados, un "fork" o derivado de algunos módulos de front-end de Elastix (r) y el núcleo de DEBPBX, el excelente proyecto de Debian y Asterisk hecho por Federico Pereira en 2009.
Entonces ahora, vamos a presentar la distro, al equipo y explicarles el por qué estamos aquí!
¿Quiénes somos? Principales desarrolladores: Ramón Lozano y Federico Pereira. Principales Contribuyentes, testers, documentación y sponsores: Tzafir Cohen, Dick Ollet, Fernando Villares
¿Por qué y cuándo? Después del 2 de abril de 2011 Ramón, Dick, Fernando y otros grandes amigos y colaboradores activos en la distro Elastix PBX se sintieron abandonados y decepcionados por la forma en que las cosas se manejaban en dicha distro, de esa manera nos unimos con Federico e invitamos a otras personas de diversos proyectos para desarrollar uno nuevo desde la raiz...totalmente libre desde cero y no vinculado a SPONSOREO DE EMPRESAS PRIVATIVAS como la gran mayoría de las distribuciones actuales de PBX y como resultado de dichos días de "brainstorming" entre nosotros nació SWITCHED ON PBX.
¿El objetivo? Lograr producir un sistema PBX que tenga carácterísticas de avanzada, es decir que cumpla en cada momento con el concepto de "estado del arte"", pero a su vez que tenga una estabilidad, solidez y versatilidad legendarias, lográndose esto solo a través de metodologías bien controladas de desarrollo, prueba y despliegue que otros simplemente no tienen en cuenta.
Software usado: Debian 6 x86 y x64, Asterisk 1.8.x, 2.9.x FreePBX, Panel y Front end Deselastixados 1.0, CSF y muchos más módulos en los próximos meses!
